Vol. 567 No. 3

Written Answers. - Common Agricultural Policy.

Dan Boyle

Question:

53 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food his views on the analysis of CAP reform by Teagasc. [14054/03]

The independent report published by FAPRI Ireland of the effects of the European Commission's proposals for the mid-term review of the CAP and for the current round of WTO trade negotiations is an important piece of analytical work which deserves careful scrutiny and examination.

With this in mind I have instructed that the study be referred to the consultative groups which I set up to examine the implications of the mid-term review and World Trade Organisation talks. They will examine the possible effects for each sector and will give due consideration to all the issues contained within the FAPRI Ireland report.
