297 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for Health and Children if he is in contact with the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the South-Western Area Health Board in respect of the need for an addiction centre in Tallaght; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14233/03]

The provision of drug treatment services is the statutory responsibility of the health boards. My Department has requested a response from the Eastern Regional Health Authority and it has replied directly to the Deputy.
