Vol. 567 No. 5

Written Answers. - General Medical Services Scheme.

Mary Upton

Question:

343 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will examine correspondence from a person (details supplied); and if he will assist the person in question to obtain funding for adaptations to her home to allow her return home from hospital. [14517/03]

As I am sure the Deputy is aware, the Department of the Environment and Local Government, through the relevant local authority, provides grant assistance to people with physical and-or sensory disabilities by means of the disabled persons grant for the purpose of meeting the accessibility needs of this client group within their homes.

However, a copy of the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Question No. 344 answered with Question No. 289.
