Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Brendan Smith

Question:

357 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Health and Children if the maximum possible level of services will be provided at Cavan General Hospital's department of surgery, in view of the recent media reports regarding difficulties (details supplied). [14731/03]

Responsibility for the provision of services at Cavan General Hospital rests with the North-Eastern Health Board. Therefore, my Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to the issue raised and to reply directly to the Deputy.
