91 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Finance the circumstances and the procedures behind the appointment of a person (details supplied) as an alternate director to the board of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development. [14668/03]
The post of alternate director of the board of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development will become vacant in mid-July 2003 when the current holder of the post will resign as his three year term of office expires. It is customary that the nomination for the post be made by the Minister for Finance. Accordingly, I have nominated Mr. Desmond O'Malley to the position. Mr. O'Malley has had a long and distinguished career in public life. He will be appointed alternate director in mid-July 2003.
