111 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Finance if he has brought the report of the Brennan Commission on financial management and control systems within the health service to Government; when it is intended to publish the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14645/03]
The report of the Commission on Financial Management and Control Systems in the Health Service, chaired by Professor Niamh Brennan, was formally presented to me on 23 March last. Two related reports which were commissioned by the Minister for Health and Children are now nearing completion, namely the audit of structures and functions in the health system and the national taskforce on medical staffing. I am considering the Brennan report in conjunction with my colleague, the Minister for Health and Children. It is our intention to bring proposals in relation to this report and the two related reports to Government in the near future.
