Vol. 567 No. 7

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Jack Wall

Question:

174 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason an application for special educational support services was refused for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare in view of the documentation supplied; if he will re-investigate this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15013/03]

The person referred to by the Deputy is currently in receipt of five resource teaching hours per week. The documentation referred to is currently being considered by the national educational psychological service, NEPS. A decision on the level of special education support approved for the person will be conveyed to the school management as soon as this process has been completed by NEPS.
