Vol. 568 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Expenditure.

Phil Hogan

Question:

256 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the total expenditure in 2002 which was spent on public relations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15665/03]

The Department does not have a specific budget for public relations.

The total annual advertising budget amounts to just over €718,000 or 0.026% of the total budget of the Department –€2.8 billion in 2002. The expenditure on advertising is the minimum necessary to ensure that the Departments clients and the general public are properly informed of the full range of the activities undertaken by the Department. Most of this spend covers the placing of statutory notices and general display advertising dealing with the Departments schemes and services.
