Question:306 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for Education and Science if the long promised physical education hall will be provided to the community in Firhouse, Dublin 24; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15183/03]
Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.
The 2003 school building programme has been published and details in relation to individual projects are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie.
The PE hall project at Firhouse community college is at an advanced stage of architectural plan ning, that is, pre-tender stage. It is included in section 6 of the published programme. However, given the level of financial commitments to be met from projects already in construction, my Department does not envisage that it will be in a position during this year to allow architectural planning for further large scale projects to progress beyond their current authorised stage.
The timing of when these projects can proceed is dependent on the financial allocation for 2004 and subsequent years.
