Vol. 568 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Paul McGrath

Question:

397 Mr. P. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the amount spent on the preparation of architectural drawings and plans and other professional fees for primary school building projects during 2002. [15978/03]

The fees payable to a design team on a large scale primary school project is 13.39% of the cost of the project. Small-scale projects are generally devolved to school authorities and the fees payable, which are incorporated in the grant amount, is less than those for large-scale projects. In view of the complex nature of the primary school building programme and the volume of large-scale and small-scale projects being processed it is not possible to provide the Deputy with precise figures on the amount expended on fees in 2002.
