Vol. 568 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Funding.

Charlie O'Connor

Question:

463 Mr. O'Connor asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if he is advising and assisting South Dublin County Council with regard to the provision of a new, modern, fully equipped arts centre at civic headquarters beside the Square in Tallaght, Dublin 24; if his attention has been drawn to the excitement being generated by this proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15256/03]

My Department's ACCESS scheme will provide €45.71 million by way of capital grants to 44 projects over the period 2001 to 2004. The South Dublin County Council Project mentioned by the Deputy was not the subject of an application for ACCESS funding at the appropriate time, and funds available to the scheme are now fully committed. My Department does not have any role in advising or assisting in the execution of this project.
