Vol. 568 No. 1

Written Answers. - Mental Health Services.

Richard Bruton

Question:

486 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the recommendations by the Inspector of Mental Hospitals in relation to the operation of the mental health services in St. Ita's, Portrane; if money has been set aside to undertake the necessary improvements; and if he will make a statement on his long-term plans for the development and improvement of services at this location. [15178/03]

The ERHA is responsible for the provision of such services. My Department has asked its chief executive to investigate the matter and to reply to him directly.

John McGuinness

Question:

487 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason Parliamentary Question No. 123 of 5 December 2002 has not been answered by the chief executive officer of the SEHB; the reason efforts made to obtain an answer directly from the SEHB failed; and if he will investigate the case and expedite a comprehensive response without further delay. [15179/03]

The board regrets the delay in replying to the Deputy but it has written to him about the case.
