Written Answers. - Child Abuse.

Kathleen Lynch

Question:

102 Ms Lynch asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress made to date in regard to meeting the request for documents from his Department by the investigation committee of the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse; if it is expected that all documents will be provided by the deadline of the end of June 2003; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15733/03]

The Deputy is referring to a discovery direction issued to the Department by the investigation committee of the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse. The deadline by which the Department must comply with the terms of the direction is 27 June. I can assure the Deputy that my Department is working towards ensuring full compliance with the terms of the direction within the deadline set down by the investigation committee and is on schedule to meet this deadline.
