Question:

145 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the report of the Committee on Education Disadvantage; if it is intended to implement the recommendations of the report, including the payment of an additional payment of up to ?5,000 per annum for teachers working in disadvantaged areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15739/03]

I am currently reviewing the report on teacher supply and staffing in disadvantaged settings, which was submitted to me by the statutory educational disadvantage committee in March, 2003.
