Vol. 568 No. 2

Written Answers. - Child Abuse.

Joe Costello

Question:

154 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 whose condition was not properly diagnosed, who consequently spent years in a classroom without the proper educational support, and was sexually assaulted and did not receive support from the health services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16106/03]

I have asked my inspectorate to investigate the educational issues raised as a matter urgency. The other serious issue is a matter for my colleague, the Minister for Health and Children, to whom I have forwarded a copy of this question.
