The contract sum for the remedial pier repair works at Castletownbere is €1,016,365.97, exclusive of VAT and payments certified to date on the contract amount to €769,149.88, exclusive of VAT. While the works referred to are now substantially completed some minor works are still ongoing, and the contracted works are not expected to be fully completed until about end of August 2003. The final amount cannot be submitted by the contractor until such time as all works are completed under the contract.
