196 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Kildare can be considered for an early appointment at St. James's Hospital, Dublin 8, for a heart bypass operation, in view of the background to the case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for the provision of health services to persons residing in counties Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
