Written Answers. - Schools Refurbishment.

Seán Crowe

Question:

266 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Education and Science when he intends to provide the necessary funding for Tiernasigo national school, Urris, County Donegal, to facilitate its urgent extension and refurbishment. [16555/03]

An application for improved accommodation has been received from the management authorities of Tiernasligo national school.

This proposed project is at an early stage of architectural planning. The timing of when individual projects can progress to tender and construction will depend on the budgetary allocation for 2004 and subsequent years and the relative priority of each project.

In the meantime, individual schools should use their devolved grant to deal with any urgent health and safety works.
