Vol. 569 No. 3

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Dan Neville

Question:

266 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 374 of 5 November 2002, if a full-time learning support teacher will be provided for the learning needs of Scoil Íde Naoife, Raheenagh, Ballough, County Limerick; his views on whether it is possible to provide the necessary support for all children in these circumstances; and his further views on whether the brevity of these visits has forced the school into prioritising literacy for those in most need and not catering for children with numeracy learning needs (details supplied). [17671/03]

The school referred to by the Deputy currently has the services of a learning support teacher on a shared basis. The needs of the school will be fully taken into account in the event of additional learning support teacher posts becoming available for distribution.
