Written Answers. - Coastal Zone Management.
The report to which the Deputy refers is Coastal Zone Management – a Draft Policy for Ireland. It was published in December 1997, by the Government Departments concerned, as a discussion document.
I have previously indicated my intention to publish in 2004 legislative proposals to support the development and operation of more integrated approaches to the management of the coastal areas and their resources. The matters that will be considered in drawing up these proposals include the recommendations made in the 1997 Report.
