John Perry

Question:

307 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children the health board areas in which the consultative committee outlined in the October 2001 report of the Advisory Committee on Palliative Care has yet to be appointed. [17464/03]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 301 and 307 together.

I wish to advise the Deputy that, as outlined in the national advisory committee's report on palliative care, there are advisory committees and consultative committees established in the following health boards: Midland Health Board; Mid-Western Health Board; North-Eastern Health Board; North-Western Health Board; South-Eastern Health Board and the Southern Health Board.
My Department has asked the chief executive officers of the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the Western Health Board to report to my Department on the status of these committees as a matter of urgency.
