Vol. 569 No. 3

Written Answers. - Bovine Disease Controls.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

181 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a vaccine will be made available to farmers in respect of a disease (details supplied). [17635/03]

Under EU and national legislation, the use of a veterinary vaccine is permitted only in accordance with an appropriate licence issued by my Department as competent authority. There is currently no vaccine authorised in Ireland for the disease in question. Any application for a licence which is submitted will be examined in accordance with the appropriate legislation.
