Vol. 569 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tendering Process.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

194 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education and Science the criteria used by his Department when selecting the successful tender for the provision of equipment to secondary schools (details supplied). [18054/03]

The process of installing dust extraction systems and the associated process of upgrading machinery in construction studies rooms in secondary schools is the responsibility of the school's managerial authorities. While managerial authorities are guided by the professional advice available to them from their consultants, it would be expected that the most competitive tender that meets the specifications and that can be delivered within the timeframe specified in the tender documents would be selected.
