Vol. 569 No. 5

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Payments.

Tom Hayes

Question:

51 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs if she will produce an information leaflet for applicants of unemployment benefit and unemployment assistance advising them on the way in which they should prove they are available, capable and genuinely seeking work. [18087/03]

My Department has an information leaflet available for applicants for unemployment payments along the lines suggested by the Deputy. The Guide for Unemployed People, SW65, provides a wide range of information for applicants, including the conditions relating to availability for work, genuinely seeking work and being capable of work. Copies of the information leaflet are available at my Department's local offices, through the LoCall leaflet request line on 1890 20 23 25 or on the website www.welfare.ie I will arrange for a supply of the leaflet to be sent to the Deputy.
