The three classes referred to by the Deputy each operates with a staffing level of one class teacher and two special needs assistants. Children attending the classes are entitled to avail of the special school transport service. Funding of €27,708 has been provided to the school to enable four escorts to be employed on the transport routes. An information technology grant of €3,810 was also provided to the classes in question.

My Department is currently processing applications made by schools for special education supports after 14 February 2003. An application in respect of the person referred to by the Deputy will be considered in this context.
