Vol. 570 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Security.

Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin

Question:

375 Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Health and Children the way in which a person (details supplied) was able to exit a hospital on 9 June 2003 through the hospital's supposedly child-proof security doors and was not missed until they were discovered by their mother in the playground at Ballybough House three hours later; and if he has had contact with the hospital or with the health board on this matter. [18332/03]

Services at Temple Street University Hospital are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has asked the regional chief executive of the authority to examine this issue and to reply to the Deputy directly.
