Vol. 570 No. 4

Written Answers. - Lucan Demesne.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

343 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment Heritage and Local Government further to Parliamentary Question No 75 of 10 April 2003, the precise annual allocations of funding for the development of Lucan Demesne which have been agreed; the reason for the delay in same; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19307/03]

Department of Finance sanction has been given in principle for a rescheduling of the funding of €4.7 million over a five year period in respect of the implementation of the management plan for Lucan Demesne. Payment of €950,000 was made to the local authorities concerned in January this year and it is not proposed to provide for further funding this year. The three local authorities involved are being asked to draw up a revised schedule of the works needed to implement the plan over the remainder of the five-year period and the cost of those works. The precise annual allocations will be determined in the light of this schedule, the progress made each year in achieving this schedule and the availability of funding each year.
