602 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if extra hours will be arranged for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare currently attending St. David's in Naas, who has a special needs assistant until 2 p.m. but who is in school until 3 p.m. each day; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the special education section of my Department sanctioned a full-time special needs assistant for St. David's national school on 17 September 2003 to cover the full school day for the pupil to whom he refers.
