Vol. 571 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Programmes.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

337 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the specific allocation of her staff whose principal duty is to ensure that her Department is effectively engaged with RAPID communities; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21401/03]

There are no staff within my Department whose principal duty is to ensure the Department is effectively engaged with RAPID communities.

There are currently 44 of my Department's regional staff serving on RAPID local area implementation teams throughout the country and an additional ten staff represent my Department on the RAPID monitoring committee. My Department is also represented on the RAPID national monitoring committee.

Although their engagement with the RAPID process does not constitute their primary duty, it is, nevertheless, a key component and valued aspect of the work of the staff concerned and demonstrates my Department's commitment to the success of the RAPID process.
