Vol. 572 No. 3

Written Answers. - Installation Aid Scheme.

Paul Kehoe

Question:

206 Mr. Kehoe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Wexford was not eligible for the installation aid scheme; the options now available to this person; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22901/03]

The installation aid scheme applies to farmers aged between 18 and 35 years on the date they are first set up in farming. Where land is jointly owned, it is a condition of the scheme that both parties must be aged between 18 and 35 years on the date of set-up. As the above named person was set up on land jointly owned with another person who was outside these age limits on the date of set-up he is, therefore, ineligible for aid under the terms of the installation aid scheme.
