Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

313 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education and Science if his Department has received the application for a permanent extension at a school (details supplied) in Dublin 24 for a third classroom, principal's office and storage area, that it is included in the primary school building programme for completion by at the latest, September 2004; when he will issue the written advice to the school in respect of the grant aid approved for the refurbishment of the sanitary facilities at the school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23293/03]

The school to which the Deputy refers has an application with my Department for the provision of a general purpose area, office and storage space. Budgetary provisions in 2004 and subsequent years together with assigned priority will determine the rate of progression through the architectural planning and tendering processes of this project.

With regard to the refurbishment of the sani tary facilities, a letter issued to the school's management authority on 3 October 2003 sanctioning grant aid in the amount of €9,145.72 – 95% of the cost of the works.
