Vol. 572 No. 3

Written Answers. - Offshore Exploration.

Martin Ferris

Question:

330 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if his Department has conducted an independent analysis of the well results from the Dooish well (details supplied); and if it has commissioned such an analysis. [23214/03]

As is the case for all offshore wells, the Department's petroleum exploration specialists have conducted, and continue to conduct, an independent analysis of the results and data from the Dooish well. The analysis also involves some input from consultants under the direct supervision of the Department. Further work will be required before the size of the accumulation and the possibilities for commercial development can be properly assessed.
