337 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the progress which has been made towards the re-development of the Abbey Theatre; when and the way in which the development will proceed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22972/03]

The Government has agreed that expressions of interest be invited from potential private sector partners for the development of the National Theatre. My Department is working with the Office of Public Works and the Department of Finance to implement this decision as soon as possible.
