Vol. 572 No. 3

Written Answers. - Residential Institutions Redress Board.

John McGuinness

Question:

350 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the amount of Government funding granted to the organisation, Right of Place; the list of projects covered by this funding; and if the organisation will be guaranteed future funding. [22890/03]

Right of Place-Second Chance is an organisation established and managed by those who, as children, were resident in institutions. My Department has provided €207,000 to the organisation for 2003. This funding provides for the operation of Welcome House, the organisation's short stay accommodation for people attending the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse and Residential Institutions Redress Board. My Department holds regular meetings with Right of Place-Second Chance to discuss its annual funding. A meeting will be organised with the organisation to discuss funding for 2004.
