426 Mr. Eamon Ryan asked the Minister for Transport the monthly figures from January 2003 to date for the numbers of civilian aircraft seeking permission to transport military personnel and weapons and munitions through Shannon Airport or through Irish airspace; if permissions to land or overfly were denied in any instances; if so, the reason therefor; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The numbers of aircraft seeking permission for landings or overflights in each month is as follows:

Of these, four applications were refused as they wished to carry landmines which are prohibited by the Ottawa Convention.
