Vol. 572 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Noonan

Question:

465 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the transfer of land in the Land Registry Office will be expedited for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [23184/03]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application under section 49, acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Titles Act 1964 which was lodged on 9 September 2003 – dealing No. D2003PS016660Y refers.

I understand that due to their complicated nature applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, can take some time to process. Accordingly it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage.

I am also informed that queries were issued to the lodging solicitor on 7 October 2003 and that the application cannot proceed until these queries have been satisfactorily resolved. However, I can assure the Deputy that on receipt of a satisfactory reply, the matter will receive further attention in the Land Registry.

John Perry

Question:

466 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform further to Parliamentary Question No. 866 of 8 October 2001, if he will again intervene with the Land Registry Office in regard to the application made by a person (details supplied); if it will be processed immediately; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23192/03]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application for a deed of exchange which was lodged on 21 October, 2000. dealing No. D2000SM008387Y refers. I am further informed that this application was completed on 23 May, 2003.
