Vol. 572 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Disciplinary Proceedings.

Aengus Ó Snodaigh

Question:

482 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the total numbers of gardaí who have been discharged as a result of having been charged with a criminal offence; and the numbers for each type of offence for the past ten years. [23448/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities who are responsible for the detailed allocation of resources, including personnel, that no gardaí have been discharged as a result of having been charged with a criminal offence, as distinct from a conviction or a related disciplinary finding over the past ten years.
