Vol. 572 No. 6

Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Tony Gregory

Question:

289 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health and Children when resources will be made available to St. Joseph's school for the visually impaired, Dublin 9, to provide residential services for girls from outside Dublin who have no alternative school available to them; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23982/03]

The provision of health related services, including residential care, for people with physical and/or sensory disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency
