Question:215 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism if he will increase funding to the Arts Council to ensure that children's arts festivals are adequately provided for in 2004. [24463/03]

Funding for the Arts Council in 2004 will be determined via the Estimates process, in the context of which I will be making the strongest possible case for increased funding for the arts. The disbursement of the funds provided to the council in 2004 will be a matter for the council itself.
