Question:

230 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who has difficulty reading and who has been quoted ?1,650 for a closed circuit television to allow them read books is entitled to a grant or financial assistance towards the cost. [24608/03]

As the Deputy will be aware, the responsibility for the provision of health services in the Dublin 12 area rests with the South-Western Area Health Board acting under the aegis of the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply direct to him, as a matter of urgency.
