Vol. 573 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Paudge Connolly

Question:

146 Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of public service cuts proposed for his Department in 2004; the areas in which such proposed cuts will be effected; if they are likely to be at lower or higher levels; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24506/03]

The allocations for 2004 are being considered in the context of the discussions on the 2004 Estimates which are ongoing at present. The 2004 provisions for services provided by my Department will be included in the 2004 Abridged Estimates volume which is expected to be published in November, as normal. Pending that, it is not possible to make any comment in relation to the programme of activities for 2004 at this time.
