Vol. 573 No. 3

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Gerard Murphy

Question:

317 Mr. Murphy asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will examine an application for home tuition for a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [25001/03]

On 23 October 2003, I informed the Deputy that my Department's inspectorate had examined this application and advised that the needs of the person in question can best be met by the provision of speech and language therapy and occupational therapy. The provision of these therapies is a matter for the local health board. My Department also communicated this information to the person's parents on 31 October 2003.
