Vol. 573 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Liaison.

Seán Crowe

Question:

562 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform his views on whether it is important for the gardaí to liaise with local community and residents groups such as the Ashington Residents Association, Cabra; and the reason local gardaí seem unable to be available to meet the association on a regular basis to keep it informed regarding events in its area. [24850/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities who are responsible for the detailed allocation of resources, including personnel, that the Garda Síochána considers it important to meet all communities and resident groups. The locally based gardaí at Cabra attend all meetings of the Ashington Residents Association to which they are invited.
