McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will request the Department of Education and Science to assist a person (details supplied) as a matter of priority and ensure that their family get the maximum advice and support in relation to their visa situation. I understand that the difficulty in this case relates to the provision of educational services for a non-EEA-national student. The provision of public services in this jurisdiction is generally dealt with as part of mainstream provision of services. Consequently I have no function in relation to the matters which are of concern to the person in question.
