Vol. 573 No. 5

Written Answers. - Metro System.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

48 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Finance if his Department has been asked to undertake an assessment of the proposals for a metro system for Dublin; the findings of such an assessment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25795/03]

The Department has not received any such request. However, on my instruction, my Department engaged Goodbody Economic Consultants to undertake a study of a number of issues arising on the proposed Dublin city centre to airport metro. The consultants have now submitted their report which I am considering.
