Question:

243 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the total receipts accruing to the Exchequer from the motorist, estimated or actual in respect of VAT, excise duty or VRT for the latest 12 month period for which the data is available; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26115/03]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the latest 12 month period for which the requested data are available is November 2002 to October 2003, inclusive. The relevant provisional figures are shown in the following tables:
