Question:

410 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Transport the bus operators which have a licence from his Department to operate the bus route from Belmullet to Galway via Castlebar; and the details of same. [26046/03]

There is currently one private bus operator, McNulty Coaches Ltd., which is licensed by my Department in accordance with the Road Transport Act 1932, as amended, to operate a bus route from Belmullet to Galway via Castlebar.

The operator provides the services under Annual Passenger Licence No. 72/95. The licence provides for two bus services which operate via Castlebar, a Friday evening service departing Galway at 4 p.m. and arriving in Belmullet at 7.45 p.m., and a Sunday evening service departing Belmullet at 5.10 p.m. and arriving in Galway at 8.45 p.m. The licence is subject to the following conditions: pick-up of passengers for set-down at or between Mulranny and Newport is prohibited; pick-up of passengers at Galway only for set-down of passengers at Newport, Mulranny, Ballycroy, Bangor, Geesala, Bunnahowen and Belmullet only; pick-up of passengers at Castlebar for set-down at Galway on Sunday is prohibited.
