Question:

231 Mr. Cuffe asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of gardaí employed at the year end of each of the past ten years; and his estimate for the strength of the force at year end 2003. [26923/03]

I have been informed by the Garda authorities that the number of gardaí employed as at 31 December of each of the past ten years is set out hereunder.
