Vol. 575 No. 1

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

Richard Bruton

Question:

159 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the current value of domiciliary care allowance, mobility allowance; and the comparator among social welfare payments which is used to determine the annual percentage increase in payment. [27967/03]

The current rate of domiciliary care allowance is €188.90 per month. The current rate of mobility allowance is €132 per month for those who do not benefit from the disabled drivers and disabled passengers (tax concessions) scheme and €66 for those who benefit from the disabled drivers and disabled passengers (tax concessions) scheme. Increases in the allowances under the remit of my Department are in line with general social welfare increases.
