Arthur Morgan
Question:220 Mr. Morgan asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if his attention has been drawn to the fact that despite repeated representations, the residents in five townlands running from Cross, Quigley's Point into the Carndonagh parish on the Inishowen peninsula, County Donegal, are still without a television reception for the national broadcaster, RTE, and that despite this they are expected to continue to pay their television licence fee; if his attention has further been drawn to the fact that RTE could install a satellite system to address this problem but their technical department is under-resourced in terms of personnel and finance to facilitate this step; and his views on whether it is unacceptable that citizens are denied their democratic rights to gain access to news items of national interest through the national broadcaster.
